Conspiracy

“Conspiracy”, a common misnomer for any theory that contradicts dominant narrative, actually means the plotting of a complex, malignant, often criminal scheme; not every theory that contradicts the dominant narrative is a conspiracy by definition.¹⁾ That is unless the theory implies a conspiracy to cover up.

The phrase “conspiracy theory” was coined in the 1960s which was ultimately used to discredit alternate theories on the JFK assassination.²⁾ Thus sparking the stigma against alternative theories.^{[citation needed]}
